Terms of Service
These Terms explain what SeniorCare Connect does, what it does not do, and what we expect from the people who use it.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use SeniorCare Connect. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
One person, one account. Accounts may not be sold, shared or transferred.
3. The platform's role
SeniorCare Connect is a technology and matching platform. We connect families with independent caregivers. We do not employ caregivers, provide medical or personal care, supervise care, or act as a home-care agency, staffing agency or medical provider.
We do not guarantee that any caregiver will accept work, that any family will offer work, or that any particular outcome will follow from using the platform.
4. Family responsibilities
Families are responsible for evaluating, interviewing, selecting, engaging and (where applicable) paying caregivers, and for meeting any legal obligations that arise from that relationship.
Families should conduct their own due diligence, including interviews, reference checks and, where appropriate, independent background screening through a licensed provider.
5. Caregiver responsibilities
Caregivers must describe their experience, services, availability and certifications accurately, must not misrepresent qualifications, and must comply with all laws applicable to the services they provide.
Caregivers act independently. Nothing on the platform creates an employment relationship between a caregiver and SeniorCare Connect.
6. Verification
Verification statuses shown on a profile reflect only what a SeniorCare Connect administrator has actually reviewed. A status of “Not Yet Verified” means we have not reviewed that item.
Users may not alter their own verification status. Attempting to do so is a violation of these Terms.
7. User-generated content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant SeniorCare Connect a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform.
You must have the right to submit any content you upload, including photographs, and you must have appropriate authority before submitting information about another person, including a person receiving care.
8. Messaging
Messages are private between the participants. We may access message content only where necessary to investigate a safety report, comply with law, or protect users, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Do not send passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers, banking credentials or other sensitive financial information through the platform.
9. Reviews
Reviews may only be submitted following a qualifying interaction recorded by the platform. Self-reviews, duplicate reviews, incentivised reviews and reviews unrelated to a real interaction are prohibited and may be removed.
10. Safety and prohibited conduct
The following are prohibited: abuse, neglect or exploitation of an older adult; theft; coercion; unauthorised use of another person's financial accounts or legal documents; harassment; threats; unlawful discrimination; fraud, scams and money laundering; fake identities, false credentials and fake reviews; and soliciting money transfers, gift cards or cryptocurrency.
We may investigate reports and take action, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and, where appropriate, contacting authorities.
11. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, where required by law, or where necessary to protect users. Suspension decisions are recorded internally with a reason.
You may close your account at any time. Some records may be retained where we have a legal or legitimate business reason to keep them.
12. Payments, subscriptions and cancellation
Family accounts are free. Caregivers may optionally subscribe to Caregiver Pro, a recurring monthly subscription billed through our payment processor at the price shown at checkout.
Caregiver Pro affects placement and profile features only. It has no effect on verification status and does not indicate that a caregiver is safer or more qualified.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.
The platform does not currently process payments between families and caregivers.
13. Intellectual property
The SeniorCare Connect name, software, design and content are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, resold or reverse-engineered except as permitted by law.
14. Disclaimers
The platform is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that caregivers are suitable, safe, qualified or available, that matching results are accurate, or that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
SeniorCare Connect is not an emergency service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SeniorCare Connect is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of any user, including any caregiver or family.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
16. Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in the application, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
