Privacy Policy

SeniorCare Connect respects your privacy and is committed to explaining clearly how information is collected, used, shared, protected, retained and deleted when you use our platform. This Privacy Policy describes our current data practices in plain language, and we collect only what the service needs.

You can delete your account and personal information at any time — delete your account here.

Notice at collection

We collect account details, information about the person receiving care, care needs and schedules, approximate location, messages, reviews, photographs you upload, subscription status and basic device and usage information. We collect it to operate the matching marketplace, keep users safe, and provide support. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Account information

Name, email address, optional phone number, city and ZIP code, role (family, caregiver or administrator), and your accepted agreement versions and timestamps.

Senior profile information and care needs

A first name, approximate age, city and ZIP code, care-needs categories and household preferences. We intentionally do not ask for medical records, diagnoses, full medication lists, Social Security numbers or financial account details. Free-text fields are optional and warn you not to add unnecessary sensitive information.

Location information

We store city and ZIP code, not street addresses. Matching uses approximate proximity derived from ZIP codes. Exact home addresses are never displayed to other users by the platform.

Messages

Messages are stored so conversations persist and are readable by the two participants. Administrators do not routinely read messages. Message content may be accessed when a message is reported, when we are investigating a safety concern, or where the law requires it.

Reviews and photos

Reviews you publish, including ratings and written feedback, are visible on the reviewed caregiver's profile. Profile photos you upload are visible to other signed-in users and on public caregiver profiles.

Device information, cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar storage that are necessary for signing in and keeping your session secure, and we collect basic technical information such as browser type and error reports to keep the service working.

Third-party services

We use a hosting and database provider to run the application, an authentication provider for sign-in (including optional Google sign-in), a payment processor for Caregiver Pro subscriptions, and an AI provider that powers the care assistant. Providers receive only the data they need to perform their function.

Our payment processor handles card details directly. SeniorCare Connect never receives or stores full payment card numbers.

Data retention

We keep account and marketplace records while your account is active. After closure we keep limited records where we have a legal or legitimate business reason — for example safety reports, audit logs and billing history — and delete or de-identify the rest.

Security

Access to data is enforced at the database level so that users can only reach their own records. Trust and safety fields, subscription state, review moderation state and audit logs cannot be modified by ordinary users. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

Your rights and choices

You can request access to your data, request correction, request deletion where it applies, and ask what we collect and why. Signed-in users can submit these requests from the Privacy Center in the application; administrators process them and record the outcome.

We will not delete records we are legally required to retain, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Submit requests through the Privacy Center or the contact method below; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your SeniorCare Connect account at any time, without contacting support. Inside the app go to Account → Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete my account. From any web browser, including without installing the app, use the public deletion page at /delete-account and sign in to confirm ownership.

Deletion removes your name, email, phone, city and ZIP code, profile photo and uploaded photos, senior profiles and care needs, saved providers and favourites, notifications, notification and search preferences, caregiver profile details and availability, contact details on inquiries you sent, and your sign-in credentials. Confirmed deletion is immediate; routine encrypted backups rotate out within 30 days.

Some records are retained for legitimate reasons: messages you sent remain in the other person's conversation without your name or contact details; published reviews keep their rating and text with no author identity; safety reports and moderation records are kept while an investigation is open; billing and tax records required by law are kept by our payment processor; and we store a minimal deletion audit record containing a one-way hash of your email, the date and an optional reason. Government licensing records for care businesses are public data and are not deleted — claiming a business is undone and the listing returns to unclaimed.

If your Caregiver Pro subscription is billed by us through our payment processor, we cancel it as part of deletion. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play must be cancelled in your device's store settings; deleting your account does not cancel them.

Children

The platform is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
