Safety Center

We would rather set expectations correctly than sound reassuring. Here is how to use the platform safely, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Emergencies

SeniorCare Connect is not an emergency service. The platform does not provide emergency response, medical diagnosis or emergency medical treatment. If someone is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency or public-safety service.

For families

How to evaluate a caregiver
Read the whole profile, including the Trust & Verification section. Ask about relevant experience, request references and contact them yourself, and confirm identity in person before care begins. Verification statuses show only what an administrator has actually reviewed — many profiles are not verified.
Interview safety
Hold the first conversation by phone or video. If you meet in person, choose a public place or have another adult present. Do not share your home address until you have decided to move forward.
Protect personal information
Never share Social Security numbers, bank or card details, PINs, passwords, or copies of legal documents through the platform. We only ask for city and ZIP code, never a street address.
Financial safety
Do not give a caregiver access to bank accounts, cards, or online banking credentials. Do not add anyone to financial or legal documents based on a platform conversation. Keep records of any payments you agree to make directly.
Avoid scams
Be cautious of anyone who asks for money up front, pressures you to move off the platform immediately, requests gift cards or cryptocurrency, or refuses a video call.

For caregivers

Protect your personal information
Share your full address, identification documents and financial details only when you have agreed to work with a family, and never through chat.
Safe communication
Keep early conversations on the platform so there is a record if something goes wrong.
Scam prevention
Ignore anyone who sends you a cheque for more than the agreed amount, asks you to forward money, or offers work that requires you to buy equipment or gift cards first.
Meeting safety
Tell someone you trust where you are going for a first visit, and leave if a situation feels unsafe.
Reporting inappropriate behavior
You can report a user or a specific message from any conversation. Reports go to our administrators.

Elder abuse & exploitation policy

The following conduct is prohibited on SeniorCare Connect and will result in removal from the platform. Reports involving abuse, neglect or financial exploitation are escalated to our administrators as urgent.

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional or verbal abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Neglect
  • Financial exploitation
  • Theft
  • Coercion
  • Harassment
  • Taking property without authorisation
  • Unauthorised use of financial accounts
  • Manipulating financial or legal documents

SeniorCare Connect cannot replace emergency services or professional protective services. If you believe someone is being harmed, contact the appropriate authorities in addition to reporting to us.

Anti-fraud policy

Never send money to someone simply because they asked for it through the platform. Never share passwords, PINs, banking credentials, Social Security numbers or card information. Scams, fraud, money laundering, fake identities, false credentials, fake reviews and financial exploitation are prohibited.

Anti-discrimination

Unlawful discrimination and harassment are prohibited. Matching is based on care-related criteria: services, availability, distance, budget, experience, language, transportation and lawful household preferences. Where a household preference is offered, it is optional and is only one small part of the score.

Report a concern

Signed-in users can report a user or a specific message from any conversation or profile. Reports go directly to our administrators.

What we do and do not verify

Verification statuses on a caregiver profile reflect only what a SeniorCare Connect administrator has actually reviewed. Caregivers cannot change their own status. The Match Score is a recommendation derived from profile data — it is not a safety rating. A Caregiver Pro subscription affects placement only and says nothing about safety or qualifications.
